Cavalaire-sur-Mer
Happiness in every season
The bay of Cavalaire, bordered by fine sandy beaches protected by a cirque of wooded hills, enjoys an exceptionally mild climate all year round. This lively seaside resort lets you mix your own cocktail of happiness, with your feet in the water.
A paradise for sea lovers
Cavalaire is a popular spot for water sports enthusiasts. The magnificent stretch of water is ideal for sailing, windsurfing, yachting, jet skiing, flyboarding… And there are some remarkable diving spots too. From the port, the heart of the resort, set sail for the Golden Isles, admire the calanques protected by the Conservatoire du Littoral and let yourself be lulled by the peaceful movement of the bay… Not forgetting the joy of simple pleasures, diving into a limpid sea, indulging in the traditional farniente, under the filtered shade of a parasol planted somewhere, on the tongue of the 4 km of fine sand.

Happiness is in my nature…
Here, happiness is combined with the seasons: a stroll overlooking the Mediterranean from the Maison de la Nature, a team game of escapism, a game of pétanque in the village square… Cavalaire combines authentic pleasures accessible to all: accommodation, facilities, activities and leisure activities, everything is designed to offer quality services in a friendly environment.

Culture and sport all year round
Attractive facilities, such as the superb mediatheque and its first-rate exhibitions, or the cinema on the port, are complemented by an eclectic program of events that punctuate your outings all year round. Not to mention the crazy cabaret evenings at the Casino de Jeux, for jackpot lovers!

A dynamic downtown
What a pleasure it is to stroll along the Promenade de la Mer, on foot or rollerblades, have a drink and a bite to eat on a sunny terrace, between two shopping sessions. Cavalaire offers a wide range of shops to suit all tastes. At dusk, the streets come alive with music and multicolored neon lights, giving way to one of the Gulf’s trendiest resorts.
A little background
Cavalaire (Heraclea Caccabaria) owes its origins to a Roman port mentioned in Antonin’s itinerary, a guide for ancient sailors. The remains of several coastal Roman villas that produced and exported wine remain. Cavalaire belonged to the monks of Pignans (13th century) and, from the 15th century onwards, to the House of Castellane, a powerful Provencal noble family. In the 15th century, the port was a working port with fishermen’s houses and stores. From the 16th century onwards, Cavalaire was sparsely populated. In 1895, the construction of the train des Pignes spurred its development. The commune became autonomous in 1929. On August 15, 1944, it was the scene of the Provence landings. Tourism was to be the driving force behind its rapid expansion.
